Faith, Freedom and Friendship – Celebrating 20 years of Romania’s NATO membership
April 20 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Romania will celebrate this Saturday, April 20 at 2 pm, in Washington, DC, 20 years since the NATO accession with a special anniversary concert, taking place at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. Organized by the Embassy of Romania to the U.S. and Procred Music, the concert “Faith, Freedom and Friendship. Celebrating 20 years of Romania’s NATO membership” will mark the return of our country to the system of values from which it had been removed by the politics of spheres of influence after the Second World War.
The venue, Mellon Auditorium, has a special symbolism: is the home to the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty 75 years ago, on April 4, 1949. The building is a historic Neoclassical auditorium, with an interior in the Beaux Arts style, and is located in the heart of Washington, DC, at 1301 Constitution Avenue. Built in 1934, Mellon Auditorium hosted several important events throughout history, such as the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty that established NATO or the publishing of the conclusions of the 9/11 Commission.
The concert will be performed by dozens of soloists of the Procred Music choir, instrumentalists, Romanian and international music celebrities that will deliver a remarkable musical journey.
