A Conversation with Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova
April 1 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am
On Tuesday, April 1 at 9:30 am, the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center will host a discussion with Mihai Popșoi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova on the current challenges facing the country and its path to European Union (EU) integration. The hybrid event will take place, in person at the Atlantic Council located at 1400 L Street, NW, Floor 11 in Washington, DC, and virtually here.
In recent years, Moldova has made significant strides, with President Maia Sandu demonstrating strong leadership in steering the country toward European integration, particularly EU membership. Sandu has had to manage the challenges presented by Moscow’s war on Ukraine, weaponization of energy, and hybrid war tactics in Moldova itself.
With parliamentary elections set for this year, combating malign Russian influence in the country will continue to be critical for Moldova’s future. In this effort, Moldova has found strong support from the EU and the United States. Join us to hear about the current challenges facing Moldova as well as the country’s relations with the EU and United States.
The hybrid event features Mihai Popșoi in conversation with John Herbst, senior director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, to discuss the above and more. To RSVP, please visit: www.atlanticcouncil.org/event/a-conversation-with-mihai-popsoi-minister-of-foreign-affairs-of-moldova/
